This weekend, the Festival of Words comes to Sunset and Grand Coteau, and our amazing MACA students are taking part in the excitement! 🎉

Our Theatre students will perform Drive-By Poetry at various locations throughout Sunset and Grand Coteau, bringing poetry to life in the streets! 🗣️ Meanwhile, our Creative Writing students will be honored for their award-winning pieces during the Awards Ceremony at the Sunset Library. 🏆

Today, our MACA students had the opportunity to learn from a guest speaker with the Opelousas Museum, who taught them how to take quality photos using their mobile phones. Afterward, students ventured out to practice their photography skills — snapping creative shots inspired by their surroundings!

As part of the museum’s “Where We Live: Opelousas Neighborhoods Project,” each student will submit three photos that celebrate the unique spirit, history, and beauty of Opelousas. This community-wide initiative invites residents to share images that highlight local pride and unity!
